Anti-Wrinkle Injections + MUSCLE RELAXING INJECTIONS
Anti-Wrinkle Injections (sometimes referred to as botulinum toxin), treats dynamic wrinkles that are caused by the continual movement of the muscles below the surface of the skin. It works by temporarily freezing the nerves that tell the muscles to move and are most commonly used in the forehead, but they are also effective in treating crow’s feet and vertical frown lines situated between the eyes.
Less commonly they are used to reduce sweating when injected into the armpits and to correct the longitudinal platysma bands in the neck.
Are there any complications associated with Anti-Wrinkle Injections?
As no surgery is required for Anti-Wrinkle Injections, it’s a very quick procedure which requires little downtime. This is a very safe product that has undergone extensive clinical trials, but the quality of the results produced depend on the experience and expertise of the practitioner. Mr Paul Tulley uses Anti-Wrinkle Injections either as a standalone procedure or in combination with facial surgery to produce the optimal results.
The majority of patients don’t experience bruising after the injections, but it is a possible side effect. Mr Tulley will explain what to expect after your procedure during your consultation.
What results can I expect after an Anti-Wrinkle Injections procedure?
Anti-Wrinkle Injections can produce very pleasing results, smoothing the overlying skin, while still retaining natural expression in the face. It is often combined with dermal fillers for an all-over rejuvenation.
Anti-Wrinkle Injections will typically need to be repeated every four to six months as the product is naturally broken down by the body and the nerves gradually start to function as before. However, if used repeatedly it can produce a preventative, long-term reduction of facial lines
Am I suitable for Anti-Wrinkle Injections?
For older patients that have a marked degree of skin laxity, surgical procedures, such as a face lift, brow lift or eyelid lift may be more appropriate. Your options will be discussed with you during a consultation. It could be that other procedures will be more suited to your problem.
Other facial rejuvenation procedures:
- Facial fillers
- Facelift
- Endoscopic brow lift
- Blepharoplasty (eyelid lift)
