Kris Jenner’s Facelift – A Surgeon’s Viewpoint
Kris Jenner is no stranger to the spotlight, but her most recent public appearance has turned heads for a different reason. The 68-year-old matriarch of the Kardashian-Jenner dynasty has long been open about her cosmetic procedures, including a facelift back in 2011. However, her latest look has sparked renewed conversation. Sharp jawline, sculpted cheeks, refreshed eyes Kris appears to have turned back the clock without sacrificing her signature look.
So, what’s changed, and how might it have been achieved?
Here, consultant plastic surgeon Mr Paul Tulley weighs in with his expert view.
What procedures has she likely had done?
“Kris Jenner has had a very striking result from her recent facelift,” explains Mr Tulley. “She’s likely undergone a revision face and neck lift, along with revision upper and lower blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), possibly supplemented by fat transfer.”
This combination of treatments can deliver a more cohesive, natural-looking rejuvenation, especially when tailored to someone with previous facial surgery. In Kris’s case, the changes are subtle yet significant. There’s renewed volume in the upper face and cheeks, a tighter jawline, and a defined neck, all balanced by refreshed, youthful eyes.
How has Kris Jenner’s facelift transformed her appearance?
“Kris has attained a very slim, defined lower face, jawline and neck, with some increase in upper face and cheek volume,” Mr Tulley notes. “She’s also achieved very clean, refreshed upper and lower eyelids. Overall, it’s a very natural, comprehensive and cohesive rejuvenation of the whole face and neck region.”
It was a well-planned, expertly executed series of treatments working together to enhance the entire face.
What kind of facelift technique was used?
“She has likely had a form of deep plane facelift,” says Mr Tulley. “This involves re-lifting the SMAS layer under the skin and trimming excess skin to fit.”
The deep plane technique is known for its ability to reposition the deeper facial tissues, rather than just tightening the skin. This gives longer-lasting, more natural results and avoids the overly tight or wind-swept appearance that can occur with older techniques.
“This may have been supplemented by moderate fat transfer to enhance skin quality and give a softer look, together with conservative eyelid adjustment,” he adds.
Can you really have more than one facelift?
Absolutely. In fact, Kris has spoken publicly about her first facelift over a decade ago. According to Mr Tulley, this isn’t unusual:
“It is common to have more than one facelift over time. One of the advantages of starting earlier, say in your 40s or early 50s, is that the tissues haven’t shifted as dramatically yet, so less correction is required at a later age.”
This more gradual, layered approach to facial rejuvenation tends to produce the most natural and long-lasting results.
What does recovery from a facelift like this involve?
“Where a facelift is performed in combination with other procedures such as eyelid surgery or fat transfer, a three-week recovery period is usually required,” says Mr Tulley.
That means most patients should plan for time away from work and social events to allow swelling and bruising to settle. For those in the entertainment industry, recovery may take a little longer, up to two or three months, depending on the demands of their role and how visible their healing progress might be on camera.
Kris Jenner’s facelift is a perfect example of what modern surgery can achieve when it’s carefully planned and skilfully carried out.
