FACIAL CONTOURING WITH FACIAL FILLER + THE NON-SURGICAL FACELIFT
Hyaluronic Acid Facial Fillers, such as Juvederm, can be used more extensively than for their usual standard uses (eg lip augmentation, filling wrinkles and grooves) to more extensively recontour the face and subtly improve its shape. They may also be used to perform a Non-Surgical Facelift for patients who would like more significant facial rejuvenation but don’t want to undergo surgery.
For patients who want to subtly improve their facial shape, there are a number of facial filler products that can significantly improve facial shape without surgery. Some of the thicker fillers can be used to improve the volume, fullness, convexity and/or angularity of the cheekbones. They can also be used to strengthen and improve the shape of the chin, jawline and the angle of the jaw.
Combining the improvements to the cheeks with the jawline strengthening can produce a striking improvement in appearance for many patients, particularly if some of their features have previously been less well defined.
The contours can be adjusted gradually over several sessions or at one session if the patient prefers to complete the treatment in one visit.
A number of older patients may seek more extensive treatment with facial fillers to achieve some of the improvements offered by a facelift but who don’t want, or are unable, to undergo surgery. Using higher volumes of a range of facial fillers around the face a number of the benefits of a facelift can be achieved.
This predominantly results from using the higher volumes to revolumise the face, replacing some of the lost volume associated with ageing, and improving some of the facial contours to be more youthful.
A number of different areas around the face are treated with hyaluronic acid filler of different types including the cheeks to Improve volume and projection, the temples, the nasal-labial folds and marionette lines under the angle of the mouth, and the lips. Volume may also be added around the chin, to the jawline and angle of the jaw to improve the strength and definition also.
Anti-wrinkle injections are also used to correct lines in the forehead, crows feet adjacent to the eye and between the eyebrows. It may also be added under the arch of the eyebrow to lift and improve eyebrow shape.
Together these treatments add volume to the face to replace that lost through ageing, improve and produce more youthful contours, give a degree of ‘lift’ to the cheeks, improve eyebrow shape and relax wrinkles. They, therefore, give a very significant improvement in facial appearance without undergoing surgery.
